This weekend I will be doing my Flauxy thing at the Dorchester Open Studios!
Location: Erick Jean Center for the Arts (EJCA) at 157A Washington Street, one block south of Columbia Road!!!

On another note...Boomerangs in JP had the most amazing collection of teak peppermills. they had hundreds! well, maybe 50? I dunno, it was a lot and really impressive. The stuff they display in their window is up for auction, I bid on the above hook. It was hidden behind a bunch of stuff and i figured no one else would notice it and LOVE it like me...it was tucked all the way in the back behind some stuff. As you can see I won it! I'm a winner.

But now i'm really curious about its origins...whose signature is that? its totally a bear, right?!

Events + Project

I've been having a lot of fun making some wonderful jewelry for JP Open Studios (and the holiday events coming up!). Stop by JP Open Studios this weekend, I will have a tent outside the Eliot School (24 Eliot Street) Saturday and Sunday from 11-6.  Click here for the JPOS Map

Here are two of my favorite new designs! Smokey Quarts and pressed glass beads - tiny faceted smokey glass beads, wrapped around and around my wrist (I have about 40+ colors, see the pic below!)

Art of the Cocktail: The Labor of Liquor 

Oct 1st, 6pm & 8pm 

My friend Dr. Markeya Williams has put together a fabulous series at The Boston Center For Arts on libations, mmm...libations! The first event will focus on rum, if you buy your ticket before the 19th you get a wonderful discount. Yay! Head Distiller, Maggie Campbell, of the local Privateer Rum company will be on board leading the discussion. Can. Not. Wait! 

Sweet tiny lil itty small baby jesus, I did something involving a "project"

I love products. I have a specific moisturizer for almost every body part...and i have no space in my tiny bathroom. So, I finally got over my fear of making holes in my uneven weird walls and put up some shelves - Amanda really did most of the driving/handholding with this project. I got the shelves at Ikea, I dont see them on the site any more :/ and the wood at home depot. With detailed instructions from Amanda (i'm ridiculously slow sometimes) I stained and sealed the wood. And thats it. Most of the products that I use daily are happily stored on a shelf now...not scattered around the small sink :)

i was going craycray with selling my jewelry to stores, craft events almost every weekend, blogging, and my ft day job. i almost stopped making jewelry, it was a "stick a form in me i'm done!" type of situation. this summer i cleaned out a lot of my materials and organized - i love making jewelry but i honestly hate being organized about it. i think the break did me well because i LOVE LOVE LOVE the stuff ive made this year. lots of happy triangles! i did well at the event last weekend but i still have a lot of stock left over, a *Flauxy Jewelry Haus Party is in session!
This Sunday, from 1-5 (i want to wake up late, its sunday!)

Flauxy at JP Open Studios

JP Open Studios is this weekend - sorry for not posting about it sooner! But you should come anyways, be spontaneous ! buy some Flauxy! Shake your booty! Its a family friendly event but dont let your kids run around wild, i really dislike that. Bring your pets, but dont let them poop everywhere. Wow, I need a vacation!

I have been working with a lot of my beautiful vintage beads - i've had some of them for over 10 years. I'm really proud of this fabulous and beautiful collection.

Wake Up The Earth

After spending a night being sick and getting maybe 2 hours of sleep....I am headed to Wake Up The Earth! Its a great event in Jamaica Plain with lots of fun activities for adults and youth. I'll have a table with my Flauxy stuff, so stop by and enjoy the sunshine!
