Uganda: Rights Not Repression

"Gay Ugandans may be sentenced to death if legislation being debated right now passes. High level international condemnation has just pushed the President to send the bill for review, but Ugandan allies say only a worldwide outcry could tip Parliamentarians away from discrimination, alarming them with global isolation. We have just days left -- sign the petition to oppose Uganda's anti-gay law below and send it on to friends and family and it will be delivered to Uganda's politicians, donors and embassies around the world."

Go here to sign the petition and get more information.
No GEMS for you Uganda. Its a shame, shame shame. When I was 15 I started a GLBT group within the youth center I spent most of my time in. When I became a freshman in high school I started meeting with my schools superintendent to get his support in starting a GLBT group. I knew I could start one without his approval, but I wanted to get the top dogs backing in case teachers retaliated. Our group created the best public service announcement ever...aw, fun times. Anyways, this time the rest of the world is the Top DOG and we need to let Uganda know that this law is unacceptable.
