Orbitz Studio Gemz!

Orbitz Studio is one of the places that I hope to visit soon. Located in Bridgeport, CT it's not too far from Boston and has a ton of gems! Orbitz Studio is currently having a special pop up shop during the weekends and special scheduled viewings during the week.

Check out their amazing inventory on their web page and if you visit or order anything online mention Crocodile Tears for 10% off. From the pics and my talks with their founder, Kwesi, it appears that the store has more items in stock at various price points. They also seem like some awesome folks who can talk design with passion!
*fyi, this is not a sponsored post, I just like OS a lot!

So much beauty!

Beautiful backs

I sort of love this wall hanging, check out the artwork on the walls

Love this simple design and the legs! I love hiding boxes under my dresser, this design is perfect for that

Mugs!

This is pretty awesome. I had a white record player growing up with a built in tape deck, I was really hesitant to buy CDs when they first came out. My dad insisted I get a Disc man. I eventually came to love to CDs...but, I still have records and need a new record player. If you have the space, this is a true beauty.

If you need some badass speakers, these are it! They are in excellent condition too.

lighting gem via Lamps.com

I hope everyone had a fabulous holiday! The week ahead looks a bit relaxed so i'll be getting back to scouring craigslist for you all. In the meantime, check out this amazing opportunity I recently got!

I love lamps (and side tables...tiny wonderful tables!). In my work area I currently have 3 lamps and an overhead light. Still, I feel like I need more lighting! When Lamps.com contacted me to review their Pixo Desk Lamp I felt like it was a birthday/xmas miracle! I spent hours trying to select a color to order...silver, white, glow or graphite...as you can see below graphite won.
I was inspired by the pics of the Pixo lamp paired with vintage furniture I found online. My Danish Vintage secretary is filled with stationary (unless i'm having a party, then its a disco diva bar!). The USB port comes in handy to charge my phone as I blissfully write thank you cards and my rent check. I love combo things, extra useful for small spaces!

See, illuminated!

Seriously this lamp is uber beautiful and sleek - its also 97% recycle, not that its going in the trash anytime soon

I really think its plays well with this happy little corner! You know what else would look amazing in my apt?
All of these lamps, love love love:
Pablo Designs, Light Bench  (Especially this one, Lucite!!!!)
Pablo Designs, Tube Top Floor Lamp (I never knew a floor version of this existed!)
Sonneman, Satin Black Bel Air Floor Lamp (Naturally....)
Adesso, Atlas Floor Lamp (that couch, great styling!)

Marimekko
I went to the Marimekko event today, it was so fun! I realllyyyy want a Marimekko dress but they are uber expensive :/
anyways, check out these chair cushions and get inspired! CL is full of sad sad danish chairs, forget rescuing animals...rescue a chair already! (jk...animals are awesome...right)

Home
when I got home tonight I was delighted to find that one of the rugs I ordered from Gilt had arrived! the rug in my bedroom is a Dhurrie hand-woven rug, grey and yellow (hopefully not hand woven by kids. great, I ruin everything. sigh. child labor is bad).  The rug outside my bedroom is super plush but hasn't produced any gross dust monsters, I got it from Joss & Main (its currently on sale again!). I'm waiting on another rug from Gilt and maybbeee one more from One Kings Lane. OKL sent me the wrong rug and it doesn't look they can send me the correct rug...meh.

getting ready for spring!

a few years ago i went to puerto rico. a giant wave knocked me under and robbed me of my fancy beautiful sun glasses :/ that wave also hurt! i havent been able to replace my prescription sunglasses, so yeah I JUMPED at the offer to blog about Firmoo! i was given the option of selecting a free pair of glasses (yay!).

honestly, i was skeptical bc ive ordered free glasses from a really nice site with uber cool frames and i was uber disappointed, twice. Once the lenses arrived badly cut for the frames, the second time the lenses were cracked. so yeah, the bar was low...but Firmoo totally surprised me with a nice case, lens cloth wiper thingy, lil tool thngy, and EXCELLENT sunglasses! i'm really looking forward to using these badboys this summer. the lenses fit the frame perfectly, i seriously couldn't be happier with them, i ordered these frames #sd2300

Firmoo is giving away free glasses to new members...honestly, the selection is lacking but hopefully they will restock soon!

being a goof at home & snow  disapproval

leaning back and with my new shades!

MOS Magnetic Cable Organizer

I blog from my fort...ugh, its really my couch. I'm surrounded by blankets, empty cups of coffee and tea, discarded bags of delicious snacks, tissue boxes, friendly dust bunnies, tv remote, roku remote, and my lap top....yeah, sometimes i live like a heathen. WHICH is why i was so excited when Mos contacted me for a product review!
I dont have many things to plug in, I use this to charge my iphone so I decided to help out two friends in a wirey situation!

I did use the white Mos at work for a week, I really loved it. Ignore the disaster under my desk...I decided that the Mos was too cute and well made for my work life (my framed keep calm poster was destroyed, things disappear...like iphone chargers! hence my generic pink charger...there is only so much batman can protect).
I really liked the Mos, its well made and looks fancy. Many wires will stick to the Mos without any help, but just in case they dont Mos provides colorful cable ties.

I sent the aluminum Mos to my lady pal Danielle to match her Mac. Danielle sent me these great pics and a ton of thank yousss! She said the Mos helps keep her wires from falling on the ground where her cat loves to attack them.

After using the white Mos at work I sent it to my friend Fabio (*fyi, the white and black models cost less!). It matches his white Macbook and goes well with his crisp clean home. Fabio decided to use the Mos in his bedroom, on his bedside table. He uses his iphone as an alarm clock, after unplugging his phone the wire usually fell behind the bedside table...no more sad wires on the ground :)

Thats it for the Mos review - Its a great well made product that looks good too.

Chicago Gem

I went on a mini awesome trip to Chicago this weekend, I am sssoooo well rested now! So rested that I only had time to visit one tempting store, The Edwater Antique Mall. It's one clean floor of really great Vintage, I didn't sneeze once! My allergies were in check, I do appreciate a clean Vintage shop! Now, lets talk about what really matters...the prices were incredibly reasonable! I could actually afford a lot of stuff in the shop (I surprisingly didn't buy anything...I hope i'm not coming down with the flu). The layout of the store and displays are visually pleasing too, if you are in Chicago its a must go to place!
*Before I pass out, I should mention that the store owners (i think they were owners?) were total gems. I wasn't my chatty self but they deff were and it was really sweet. Before I left they informed me of two other places to check out in the area....next time Chicago, very soon I hope!

red. leather. on a phone, kill me now! total beauty

this lil guy was really tiny

biggest temptation, it was like 100$ for the set...wood and silver. i kept reminding myself that my dishes tend to marinate in the sink so i best not...sigh

love the buttons on the side of this purse - it didnt have that old vintage smell, perfect business fancy lady purse
there was a lot of art.

and adorable salt & pepper shakers!

im beginning to see things that i own in antique shops...its kinda cool and a lil weird, i own the bumpy glass ice bucket next to the piggy (it had handles but you cant see from the angle i took the pic in). i purchased mine from a wacky guy on the street a couple of years ago

mmmm metal that looks like wood, my favorite!

had a hard time walking away from this lucite lazy susan

crappy pic, but the tall lamp with the ugly shape is AMAZING! the base is modern and all sexy lucite but the shade....the shade hurts my eye balls

Hey, I just met you...and this is crazy but heres my number...so call me, maybe

Calendar Gem

i came across the coolest calendar while playing on playwho! its a vertical calendar by Make Collaboration, i'm really excited about the way the calendar is displayed and the space for making notes.
from their site:
HANG IT UP
For those who only prefer to display art, the Vertical was designed with you in mind. We treat our calendar like a fine painting, mounting it with a magnet+tack hang up set that avoids puncturing and allows for easy month-to-month transition. Display months individually or as a group, either way the Vertical will be a fine addition to your home, office or both.

I have to admit, their pictures are not the best...but I can imagine this looking uber cool in my place!
